Jarrah Bar and Café

Believable this place is almost Ireland! Having arrived this afternoon, I found this place to be a great all-rounder Aussie/Irish pub. Bar area well styled with a great traditional mix. The Gents toilets for me was a touch of class+classical contemporary, a nice edge somethimg few and far between in WA. This place deserves rewards not paint strip/recoats.. keep the place alive as a local saviour to this soon to be derelict area. Price is a bit steep, but they have only just opened in the middle of a pandemic really deserve all the praise.

loved it lots and lots. Kayla Mclean was absolutely outstanding. served us so so well, she needs a raise! will be visiting again x

As I complemplate my 3rd hour waiting for food I become reflective. It was a good day. I looked forward to the rare treat of food in a public setting. I got a beer and contemplated my order. Placed my order with the unspoken social contract that it would be delivered as I was hungry. It has yet to be delivered and my hunger has evolved from a mild inconvenience, to anger, to denial, to questioning whether I ordered it at all, to acceptance. I now live with an ache in my tummy and a more longing in my heart. Please arrive soon food...

$30+ for a pasta dish, $13 for a beer and you have to order at the bar, find your own utensils and food is delivered "tapas style" which is hospitality lingo for "the kitchen can't be bothered co-ordinating the arrival times of your entree's and mains so you'll just get your dishes in any random order". I don't mean to sound precious but at those prices you can eat at some of the best fine dining Italian restaurants in Perth. After paying $104 for 2 entree's, 2 mains and a drink, I managed to find some utensils in a box by the register, and took my table pole and beer back to my table (sound like fine dining yet? Don't let the expense fool you.) When our mains were delivered the wait staff cleared our share plates and utensils (that I had only just managed to gather from the various "help yourself" stations dotted around the restaurant. Because why would everything be located at one station?), leaving my wife and I with our two main dishes and nothing to eat them with. Naively, we waited to see if they might return with some other knives and forks. After 5 minutes I decided that was unlikely so made my way back to the register to go gather some more eating utensils. Food was OK, definitely not worth the price tag. It was stock standard Italian dishes with pub dining service at a fine dining price. I'm afraid Jarrah Bar and Café has simply joined in with the attitude of it's competitors at Hillarys Boat Harbour. Once you've got the location "that'll do" service and product is all that's required to turn a profit.

Incredible gluten free menu. The GF pasta is freshly made and delicious! So is the pizza! You don’t feel like you are missing out at all. Also great G&Ts!

I don't mind paying a surcharge for PH, but when my families food all comes out at different times and we waited along time to get it, it really turns me off wanting to go again (and it wasn't packed). Value for money NO, Nice Place YES, Service good YES for staff NO for food service.

Absolute worst experience. Was a very quiet evening. Waited for a long time to be served. The staff were more interested in polishing glassware than to serve the customer. Management could perhaps have a team training day reminding the staff that if they don't serve the customers they won't have glassware to polish for long.

Loved the pizza and pasta. Drinks too expensive. Service is not so good though. Not being greeted when you enter.. no signs or instructions if it's table/bar service. Not sure if they give cutleries when mains arrive, but got them myself instead..
