4 Victoria St 7000, Hobart
We were very disappointed with this cafe. They clearly don't have a chef. We ordered eggs that were heated in a microwave and exploded when they were served. The eggs were inedible. The replacement meal was no better. We will never go again. Be warned.
Once touched down in Hobart, we went straight to the popular cafe that people raved bout the bakery for our first brunch meal in Hobart. I had the scallop pie (was so excited about it and looking forward to have tothis for so long) and we had free range pork, apple and sage sausage roll. The pie was so-so for me, the flavour was rather blend but the amount of scallops in it was generous and only costs $11. The sausage roll good and costs $10. Everything was so worth it. Craving fixed!
Love this place: it boasts high quality food, combined with excellent staff. I loved the way the waitress laughed with me when I ordered a "skinny-milk, 1/4 strength decade capucinno. 😁
We got their later in the day so a lot of the food from the menu was sold out (our fault!) the waiter was super friendly and helpful though, recommending lots of other items (all delicious!). We even grabbed some goodies to take with us after lunch. Such a cute little bakery in a lovely little spot. Only a short distance from the Salamanca Markets!
Love this place!!! Tasty food and coffee was solid! Didn't try the sweets but they look amazing!!!
Absolutely delicious food, especially the baked eggs and salmon on danish.
You can choose to eat in or takeaway - separate counters - ordering at the counter is easy and staff have always been friendly. Order what you like from the display - the meat pies are excellent with real chucks of steak / beef. They have their own tomato relish, which is an good compliment to the savory pastries.
Jackman & McRoss is the perfect spot for tea and cake (or coffee) during a visit to Battery Point. It looks the part, and is perfectly situated just between Arthur Circle and some of the better streets for viewing the older houses. And despite the fact it’s popular, and on every tourist map, the tea and coffee is actually decent, and the selection of cakes excellent, with a fair few gluten-free options.
Busy Cafe and bakery. Good for brunch. Exceptional service.
The baked goods definitely are their specialty, i mean this place has been a bakery since forever, even the original shop, bc of common sense should be good and it definitely is. However the breakfast there is not great, it's pretty regular and what i tried wasn't that tasty as other places i have been. And I try breakfast in many many places because i love it. Also the service was a little bit disappointing, the girls don't smile at all even when it was not busy when i was there. This fact didn't make me feel cozy in the place, and for me that's a very important thing about a cafe. And mostly a cafe as popular as this one. Thank u anyway, I wanted to try and i did and enjoy the pastries a lot!
