Dishes didn't taste as good as last time
Very quick service but with a smile and courtesy. Great tasting food. Good decor and atmosphere. Very reasonable prices.
Still a great place for dumplings! Service may not win any awards but the flavours will!
Awesome dumplings, very good chinese cuisine. Cosy place with helpful staff. Price is fair.
Delicious food. Moderately priced. Recommend a booking. As it is quite popular they rush you to finish your meal.
Nice dumplings and food... Try the pumpkin cake is so yummy :) a bit crowded in the rush hour but otherwise is all good!
Came for dumplings and decided to also get the whole barramundi. We got seated very quickly, even without a booking, and got our order taken pretty quickly as well. Once the food came, it was good, not amazing, but solid. The barramundi was the best part. But the food came out so slowly, it was painful. We ordered 4 dumpling dishes and the fish, and it took us 2 hours to get our food - we literally waited 20-30 minutes in between each dish for the next one to come out. We were originally thinking of ordering dessert, but after waiting so long for each of the dishes, we were definitely not willing to wait another 1/2 hour to get it so we just left. Too bad because the food is decent, but the speed of service is abysmal and not worth going to.
Always a good xiao long bao option!
I've visited at this restaurant with my mates, but lunch time was so horrible and gave too bad customer service. We went this place nearly first customer and ordered 6 dishes. Nevertheless this restaurant dishes were not hot even warm, felt like instant dishes. Firstly we got Xiaolongbao, but it was almost cold and they served without bamboo lid, I saw they were serving to other western customers with lid. So I felt national discrimination from this restaurant's manager even we asked mandarin interior about meaning and he said "you don't know this meaning?? just yanlin!(Actually I didn't understand), find your dictionary!" it was so rude and seems like he looks us down, because there were just 2 tables, one is us and other table was mom and son. After that, we got dishes gradually, pan-frying gyoja, wonton soup and more(I don't know others name), every dish looks like made by apprentice dishes that I mean it was so low quality. Also everyone is working in kitchen. My Chinese and Taiwanese friends recommended this restaurant, but you guys broke my trust about Chinese cuisine and culinary skills, just making low qualities dishes. I've heard this restaurant has been run over 10 years, but I think Hu tong should be wake up daydream. Shanghai Street and other Chinese restaurant are much better and have high quality customer service. I'm gonna never recommend this restaurant. Dishes are awful.
Great dumplings, service was alright, would definitely come back just for the food. Drinks were decent too.
