Hunky Dory

That batter on the fish and calamari were so heavy that it masked the flavour of the seafood, rubber texture too be honest. Not even a crunch on the coating, just somewhat chewy. The fish was dry and not an ounce of seasoning. Overly hyped in my words, wouldn't recommend it if your after fresh fish with a crunchy batter. Some sort of cake batter they must be using.

This is a great place. Very clean and fresh. The fish and chip are nicely cooked. The staff are friendly and helpful and catered to my dietary needs well. Definitely a come back again place.

Service was nice, but we're not eating the service. Calamari was tough as nails and over battered. Chips and scallops were the same. Small piece of fish was ok. Ended up tipping it in the bin and making meals for everyone at home. Will be trying another local to spend my hard earned at.

Good food but be warned about the portion sizes and prices. Read carefully when you order and ask questions. I didn’t and got their smallest box of calamari (15.90 for 15 pieces) way too much for one person. As I said good food but insane portion sizes.

My partner and I are regulars at hunky dory in Melbourne. We are in qld for a holiday and have come here 4 times in 1 week. This is so delicious and generous servings and so fresh. This was way better than Melbourne. Thanks to the owner Mo who is so friendly too. You will do well Mo this was our favourite place to come to.

27 years of life and this is by far the best fish and chips I have ever had and defiantly in my top picks for food in general. Chips size are good for the price remind me of the amount of chips you use to get after school for $2. Grilled fish was beautiful and calamarii was delicious. Will definitely come back here everything I visit Burleigh heads

Hunky Dory is great! It's a bit hard to find somewhere to park but it's worth it. I had crumbed barra and crumbed calamari rings. Fish was perfectly cooked, still juicy and soft, the calamari rings could have done with 30 seconds less in the fryer but were still delicious.

Best fish and chips on the coast. Whatever they coat the grilled fish in, is magic and the owner is a legend, always making sure everyone is looked after.

Went there on the weekend with my family, was greeted by a lovely girl at the counter who talked us through the menu. Food service was prompt and talk about tasty! Kids meals were fantastic, I had the grilled Barramundi, and Salt n Pepper Calamari - easily the best I've had in a long time! Thanks to the team , we will definitely be back again soon :)

6 bucks for the smallest chips ever it sucks that u guys started out so good but as soon as your busy it all fall's apart pick up your game or locals will go elsewhere
