Have been stopping in at Heatherbrae Pies for years. Always a good place to stop in and we used to ALWAYS buy family pies & quiches to take home. Also take home a variety of sweet treats! However, lately the meat/dinner pies have been extremely peppery. So much so my kids now won't eat them at all and the last few times we've driven past and not stopped in because they haven't been as enjoyable as they used to be. While I don't mind a little bit of pepper, getting a mouth full of peppercorns is not plesant. The quiches also seem much thinner and not really worth the price. The last few times they have been barely 2cm thick and yet still $25-$27. Will probably stop in every now and then to see if the pies and quicjes have improved, but we aren't buying nearly as many as we used to anymore :(
Great pies and a good variety. Pick up some family pies too if you need one for later on, best ever vanilla slice, you wouldn't be unhappy if you had some of that. Coffee is standard, nothing spectacular but better than some other option in this vicinity.
Tried a gluten free pie - wasn't all that good - just "ok". Very grateful that they have GF options though, and the bottle of OJ was fresh and delicious.
A stop for lunch after travelling 3 hours. Pies were hot and good variety. Also caters for gluten free. Seating available inside away from weather conditions, also drive through if wanting take away. A small botanic garden close by (down the road) to give children and adults a break from travelling especially if going some distances forward.
Great to have a hot gluten free pie!! The chunky steak filling was delicious. Will always plan to stop here on our way past.
Excellent service from very friendly staff. Dining area was extemely clean. Covid plan was very clear at entry. Coffee and pastries were outstanding.
it has a great selection of pies in a location that is easy to access from both sides of the pacific highway. a selection of both hot and cold pies are available as well as coffee and a somewhat small selection of cold drinks. some pies have names that may leave you guessing what they contain and the ingredients list isn't clearly labeled on their price board which leaves many customers asking what is in each pie as they order. some staff are cheerful and friendly but often some seem unhappy to be there. the quality of the pies makes up for the few downfalls though.
Tasty pies & nice restaurant. The Cherry Pies are awesome! Will definitely visit again
Meat pie filling was bit plain thank covid for salt and pepper sachets still repeating four hours laterππ but the milk shake was awesome
Pretty good for a quick dinner stop. Prices are reasonable, free sauce for the kids is a bonus, coffee varies wildly from decent to horrible, so its a bit of a lucky dip. A decent range of vege options also. I love the cherry pies!
