Yummy thick soup π
Best Ramen in Australia
Love coming here for a great ramen night. Make sure you bring cash as they donβt take card. Also, there is no parking outside so try to park near Exhibition Park. This is always worth the extra walk πππ»
I like the novel concept of thick tonkotsu soup. However, it does not taste as good as you may think. The soup is too salty and has a strong bone marrow taste that lingers in the mouth. I'm glad that I tried, but I would not be racing back here again.
Heard a lot of good reviews about Gumshara Ramen and it is known as one of the "must try" ramen in Sydney. The ramen was flavoursome and portion was generous. However the two options we ordered were a tad salty and on the thicker end for my taste bud. Might try the other soup base next time.
High expectations but would say based on taste & flavour it didn't hit that high note! The Ramen broth was a tad bit salty & a bit too thick but the toppings including the noodles, 4 pork slices + egg was perfect... Comparing other Ramen bowls bit on the $$$. Also, must say the counter lady was super polite & friendly.
Have heard a lot about this place so decided a cold, rainy evening would be the perfect time to visit. Ordered the garlic tonkotsu, large serving as I was pretty hungry. Bowl came out piping hot in a little under 10 minutes. The pork was great, tender and flavourful. The noodles were cooked well with a good bit of bite to them. The broth, the famous broth I keep hearing about. It's super thick, very rich and well salted. The broth has a real meaty flavour and being so thick really sticks to the noodles making each mouthful a burst of porky flavour. I consider myself to be a good eater and would normally demolish a large bowl of ramen and leave nothing behind but struggled with this bowl due to how heavy the delicious broth was. There's a lighter, less thick and salty broth available which I'll probably get next time. Egg doesn't come standard, need to pay extra so keep that in mind when ordering!
Great ramen. The soup is thick, so if you aren't into a gravy consistency then ask for a thinner soup. The pork rib is 10/10. Crispy exterior and melt in your mouth inside. Little bit unbelievable almost like jelly.
Best thick broth ramen in Sydney. Did I mention the thick broth? Their meat game has also improved, comparable to other ramen joints in Sydney. This is a key Sydney institution, and continued support for the owners is vital as there is no viable alternative at the moment in Sydney. The line and wait is well worth it.
Heard good reviews about this place so had to try it out. We ordered the large mega ramen for $38, sharing between two people. It was delicious and very filling. The broth was quite thick and they offer self serve thinner if you wish. We decided not to thin it, even so we didn't finish between the two of us. They kindly provide takeway containers and bags free of charge so we could save it for later. The meat was really nice, but a thing to note is many of the dishes don't come with egg so you have to add it on for $2. Will definitely come back sometime as it was a nice filling meal on a cold windy winter's day.
