Gourmet India Restaurant

The worst ever experience anyone can have. We were in Mount Gambier for two nights. On the first day we went at 7:30 pm for dinner and owner said we can only do takeaways even though their dinning hours indicates 9pm. We respected the decision and took take away. We went to restaurant on the next day at same time and owner again asked waitress to tell us the same. We denied and was leaving the restaurant and at the same time they were offering menu card to other table. This is disgusting. This attitude is not good at all. We will never go this restaurant again and will not recommend this kind of service to any one.

Not a bad place at all. If you're introducing yourself to Indian food this would be a nice start. Not as strong spices/flavours and heat as I am used to. Solid choice and didn't have to wait long with pick ups frequently being ordered.

Flavour not too bad, love the way the papadams cooked. Have frequented for years satisfied but has changed over last few orders. No fried rice available three times now. Tonight the Lamb Korma was great flavour but a container of sauce with only 10 cubes of lamb does not make a dish nor worth the price

We had some expectations of the restaurant since we heard the restaurant name from our motel. Unfortunately, fell shallow with their service and the quality of food. Sat there for nearly 45 minutes before we got our first dish on to the table, we could see more than 6 takeaways going out but we were just looking at our faces. Being a restaurant for dining as accompaniment (normally a table will be served with a share plate of (poppadoms) wasn’t offered!! On the note of running late to be served, they didn’t care about coming to the table and conveying the message or asking for something else that can be brought to the table quickly!!! Maybe we will skip next time if we are in Gambier, or maybe we will ask for the takeaway knowing the service quality for dining.

Great place to dine in or take away, been there for food twice during our stay in Mount gambier, never disappoints. Little more wait but worth it, they said 40 minutes wait but took more than an hour. We were not happy But when we tried the food then realised it worth the wait. They were so busy on weekend both with take away and dine in. Look like famous with locals. Will be back on our next visit.

Probably one of the best Indian Curry's I've had in a while The Vindaloo could have been a little bit hotter, but apart from that I absolutely loved it I'll give it a 9/10 just because the Vindaloo needed just a little bit more spice 🔥

Was a great time out having dinner with my sons and nephew. Left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied.

We tried to get a table for 7, but the waitress refused to allocate us a table. Even though the dining area was nearly empty, just a small family sitting on the corner and having their dinner. Had she been polite I could have understood, but the rude reply we got was shocking. For a second I thought did she think that we are for freebies!!!! I would rather skip a meal than eating at such place.

Great Indian food, especially vegetarian curries all good, dal is the best. Service is also to the mark. Surely coming back.
