Din Tai Fung World Square Restaurant

The quality has dropped so much compared to last time I was here a year ago, most of the food came out cold. So disappointed!!

One of my fave dumpling places and still the best XLB - xiao long bao soup dumplings in Sydney! I’ve been here many times but didn’t realise I hadn’t reviewed it. The XLB are always excellent here, soupy on the inside, juicy, succulent meat on the inside and encased in a beautiful thin dumpling wrapper. I love the XLB here for their thin dumpling pastry, I prefer mine delicate. For starters I like the cold tofu dish with pork floss and century egg, it mixes various textures and is sweet and salty. The prawn dumplings here are ok, nothing too special. The pork noodles are a staple dish here for me, food noodle texture and I like the edamame beans. I tried the salted custard yolk glutinous donut here for the first time, it combines two of my fave flavours and desserts in one. I’ll have to order this one again!

Extremely tasty cultural food. Food is full of flavour and definitely not dry. The staff are kind and well mannered. This branch in particular is better than others as it as plenty of seats available for customers. All in all great restaurant. I would go back again. However, I'd recommend everyone taking a train as car parking is extremely limited in the area surrounding it.

I went to this place on recommendation... and honestly it was worth it. I tried their chicken dumplings it was juicy filled with chicken and soft coating.. very unique from the rest.. I loved their egg fried rice as well. Which was delicious 😋 for dessert tried their sweet dumplings with chocolate sauce, presentation was mind blowing..

Xiao long bao Dumplings, chilli prawn and pork wonton and egg fried rice with truffle oil and mushroom was very tasty.

Nice service, really good food. Really recommended!! The blueberry cheese dessert is awesome! Really cool the way they have set up the tablets to order from the table. I will come back for sure!

Visited with a friend of mine - we are well into our dumplings and have visited other Din Tai Fung locations. Staff were friendly and tables spaced as per COVID guidelines. Check in required and plenty of hand sanitizer available. We ordered a couple of dumpling options - prawn and pork and soup dumplings - all were fantastic. Also ordered the greens - broccoli and garlic - also yum! I really do like the consistancy across all Din Tai Fung locations. All up great dumplings and a good experience

There is a good reason for the wait times!! Its an awesome place with great food & atmosphere!! I highly recommend this place

I've had Din Tai Fung in many countries now, including the original Taiwan outpost - but there's something nice and comforting about coming back to where it all started for me - the World Square branch. Quick, efficient, and tasty! And now even better with their new iPad menu and ordering system! It's always a great place to come for a meal, and now that you can reserve tables online, it's become even better, and the food has always been top notch!
