Although set in a stunning location, the resort isn’t up to the level it should be at this price point. The bed was rock hard and pillows awful. It was difficult to find the light switches as they were behind kitchen appliances or in strange spots. There was wine and beer glasses but not normal drinking glasses. The bathrooms have been semi renovated, but don’t have a place to put your shower products/shampoos etc. The location and the penguins which walk through the property is what saves it. The manager was friendly and took us to see the penguins which was pretty cool, we also saw some pademelons which were cute. The main house/reception/restaurant/bar is a lovely building also. This could be a lovely spot to holiday in summer.

This was a nice bit of family fun. The whole thing is over and done with in just over an hour. We were in low season, but still saw plenty of penguins and also a wombat which was a rarity. The staff were very professional and knowledgeable. We had one chatty tourist on our tour that didn't stop asking questions, but the lovely staff answered every question confidently. Photography is a little tough when everything is bathed in red lights. No flash photography allowed, as expected and respected. Videos seem to be the best bet. But don't expect any cinema quality or Instagram worth content.

We stayed here solely to see the penguins and were not disappointed. They put on a big show for us the night we were there. The restaurant had a terrific selection of food, as did the bar, with beer. The rooms were large with all the amenities you would expect. Just missing a few tiny flourishes to make this place truly exceptional (paintwork in room, toilet seat)

Excellent stay with young kids. Very child friendly resort. Room has been refurbished and is clean, with upstairs bedrooms and downstairs kitchen/lounge with patio leading onto large grassed area within view of playground. Amazing views of diamond island and close beach access.

Beautiful place. A tad old and worn, but very clean and staff are so l lovely. Seeing the penguins at night was such a treat. Would stay here again. Didn't get to walk out to the island as we had a rough day of weather and then the tide was in, but looked so stunning

The accommodation was comfortable and spacious, with convenient access to the beach. However, eating at the on-site restaurant was a big mistake. It was the worst meal by far that we had in Tasmania on our trip. The 'pasta with prawns ' was not pasta at all, but rather egg noodles drenched in oil with a few shrimps. The gyoza were undercooked and chewy (which I explained to the waitress). The Korean fried chicken was essentially very small pieces of hard chicken. Please don't eat at this restaurant.

Wonderul resort in a beautiful location by the beach. The room was spacious, had everything you need as well as a fantastic view and comfy bed. The staff are amazing and will go out of their way to make you feel at home and relaxed. Their KFC (Korean fried chicken) was some of the best we've had. The beach and the island are a gem, feels like you have access to your own private beach and can walk to the island when the tide is out. The nightly penguin viewing is a unique experience! We will definitely be back to stay again :)

Location was easy to find, just off the side of the road, about 5 minutes from the centre of the town. Rooms were decently clean and spacious. Fuss free, nothing special. Penguin viewing after sunset available, where we managed to spot about 4-5 penguins traversing up the open field. Note that the beach area is closed for the private tour but the penguins will go past the beach to the field where the resort is at. Requires cooperation of the guests to stay away from the fences, to allow the penguins to freely move! Guide had about 4 to 5 torches and could answer our questions. Good free experience I must say, but go for the paid tour if you expect more

Room was incredible, even thou undergoing Reno's it was still a great place to stay. Bedding was supplied for porta cot which was fantastic. 2 min walk to beach and that was amazing. Had an issue with smoke detector and it was fixed immediately.

I enjoyed our stay here however it was very basic and definitely a little old and worn. We were in one of the second story units and I think that gave us a bit more privacy and a lovely view. It was quite clean and didn’t set off my allergies which was amazing! I loved the fact that it was dog friendly and that we could take our dog for short walks across the large grassed area and straight out to the beach (depending on seasonal restrictions). I can’t comment on price since hubby booked and paid but I would love to come back. I think you guys could really improve your rating and customer satisfaction with some basic upgrades and I’m hoping this is in the works because it is such a lovely location and grounds.
