David's Hotpot

Good food and customer service. I like how the menu has indicative cooking times of the ingredients and the DIY sauce bar was nice. Would recommend 👍

David’s is one of our favourite hot pot places in Melbourne CBD. Love their spicy soup base (it’s not overly spicy if you get little or medium spice) and the tomato oxtail soup base. Always love the classic dishes and the meats and seafoods are very fresh. They have a lot of unique hot pot dishes as well like DIY Chinese donut which comes with prawn mince, cheese and egg. Highly recommend trying their side dishes like fried rice cake and fried crispy pork belly - super addictive! They’re always super busy so I’d definitely recommend making a booking in advance.

Great, authentic hot pot. Extremely spicy - make sure you select the least spicy option. Extremely expensive also, a better deal if in a large group. The premium meat was to die for, highly recommended! The only minus are the restrooms, somebody should really take better care of them.

Very disappointing and does not live up to its reviews. The staff were unorganised and service was poor. The place was rather average. The food was decent but definitely not worth the price. We ordered the seafood soup base and signature spicy soup base with mild spice. The spicy soup was very spicy; nice at first but became less and less enjoyable. The seafood soup base was tasty. But the soup bases themselves were far too overpriced. Already paying $40 for just soup. The menu and ordering was through WeChat which made it pretty inconvenient since it was all in Chinese. The site also crashed which canceled all our previous orders. Customers were forced to pay for a little can of oil provided on the table that was pretty much useless. We were told of member discount if we subscribed to David’s hotpot. However, this was misleading because when we went to pay, they still charged us full price. The said that next time we have to show them our membership number beforehand, which we were not made aware of. All I can say is never again!

What an amazing place. So many great options and the sauce bar was second to none. Great service too! A real treat. Highly recommend!

Fantastic hotpot but f#@k is the spicy base hot. Definitely get mild but even then you'll be sorry.
