140 Beamish St, Campsie 0, Sydney
It is a small place serving authentic Malaysian food. The food was good and the prices were reasonable. During Covid restriction today the place was quiet. It would be better if they provide hand sanitizer for customers. If you don't expect anything else other than cheap eats this place is recommended.
Always busy and always deliciously enjoyable... Sambal need to ask again again, since can only get small serving. Service is always friendly and wonderful. Food is fresh and addictive if Malaysian dishes are your favourite. The pork knuckle is so big... And tasty...
We travel 45mins to get to here as my friend rave about this place. When we got there it's was pack n it was worth a wait even though we book before hand. Definitely worth the travel. Food was great especially Yam basket n homemade tofu hotpot. Would come back again to share it to other friends n try out other dishes
Warning - They are Cash only. Also, You are not here for the ambiance or service. The atmosphere is like a crowded Asian hawker stall, elbow to elbow. Service is straight to the point and abrupt, to the uninitiated - almost rude. However, you are not here for those things. You are here for good quality Malay food, at decent sized portion, at a reasonable price. Hence you are willing to compromise and forgo some other services. Popular with locals and those in the know for a taste of Malay cooking, booking is essential. Even then, ensure your whole party is there on time or you might still lose your reservation.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. VERY AUTHENTIC! Every dish I've had so far reminds me of Malaysia, especially those road side eats. My absolute favourite is the yam basket with Marmite chicken. Minus 1 star as their desserts aren't as good. The chendol and sago was very watery and didn't have enough flavour.
The place’s busy around dinner hours. Need to make reservation if you wanna dine in and have your food served quick. Enjoyed the food here especially Mongolian pork. Char kuey teow’s average. Will come back to try more dishes though.
I was craving for laksa. Came here for the excellent laksa soup. The sambal was excellent too. I tried the combination laksa. Others had hainan chicken laksa and hainan chicken kolo mee. Excellent dishes!
Best malay food I've tried in Sydney. It was a super far drive but worth it!
Authentic Malaysian food. Generous portions. Fast friendly service. But really it's all about the food. Big menu that suits large groups for sharing or individual diners. Plenty of meat, seafood and vegetable options. Laksa is my favourite dish here though. The herbal tea is good too.
Go there for the Yam Basket. I cant think of any other Malaysian restaurant in Sydney that carry this dish on their menu. Plus the generous portions...
