Cafe Rubix is a decent cafe. It has good local parking, a kids menu and a decent amount of seating. My partner and I thought the food was ok but not great and our drinks (coffee and a hot chocolate) were at best average. The service was fast and the food came out extremely quickly. I would rate Rubix as an average cafe that really needs to up it's game of it wants to compete in Melbourne.

Nice and easy breakfast on a Sunday morning. This Cafe opens early so doesn't eat up your day. The smashed avo and the corn fritters were great. Service was attentive, polite and friendly and there was no rush to get us out of there so we could hangout and chat for a while. Coffee was very nice as well. Will be back when I'm next in Melbourne.

Food looks great but a little bland on seasoning for the pumpkin corn fritters. Eggs well cooked. Hot drinks a bit watery. However the cafe is very busy for this shopping strip and clearly does well.

The standards of hygiene here are poor. When I walked in I noticed a staff member wiping up a spillage behind the counter with a dry paper towel. All the empty tables hadn’t been wiped down. The floor hadn’t been mopped properly. When my order was served, they went to put everything down on a filthy table, except I stopped them and pointed out that the table was dirty -the waitress then proceeded to wipe the dirty table with yet another bit of dry paper towel. They seem to have no idea how to clean and I watched them tidy up all the other tables for the next customers without cleaning the food off any of them. It’s hard to enjoy coffee when you feel like everything you touch is germy.. but even though it looked the part it tasted as if the machine had not been maintained. The food was not particularly enjoyable either.
