12 Franklin Whrf, Hobart
Visited the Brooke Street Pier during the day and again for the Twilight Markets. Enjoyed both. Some funky stalls inside the Pier for some fun gifts, and the Twilight Market had some totally delicious food. Had the Sri Lankan Potato curry and was very happy.
Im.not sure about this place. It's a brand new pier but it has no heart, no centre. There are stalls in funny places dotted around. I never feel like it's a 'place', just somehow an open empty hall filled with temporary bits and pieces. I do really like the smart bar at the very end overlooking the river. It is well designed and appointed. I found the loos downstairs and its a very odd way to find them, the decor is beyond post industrial. It's all really odd to me...nothing gels for me about this decor functionally nor aesthetically. Otherwise I think it's a wonderful project to replace an old missing pier and fill it with public stalls showcasing local makers. I love that! I do think it needs more thought how to bring it altogether.
Various retail and food offerings on the pier.
Friendly casual atmosphere
The place to go to get all your travel plans and information
Lots of quality handmade items, cafe and tourist information. Booking centre for MONA tickets and where the MONA ferries depart. Toilets downstairs and around a few corners.
It is so fun to have such a range of seafood available to you, coming off a boat! The pier is well maintained and there are not a lot of seagulls around, made for a very nice experience.
Most shops closed
Great tourist spot
Great atmosphere
Great frontage to Hobart.
I enjoyed the night markets here.
It just needs to grow on you. At first sight it has nothing much to offer, but 3 days into it you begin to show its uniqueness. It also begins to show that it is part of Salamanca shopping and eating precinct
Great coffee inside, plenty of local things to buy while waiting for the Mona catamaran. Beautiful place to wander around and take in the beauty of the waterfront
Like one stop shop for bookings tours, coffee, and gifts.
Great place with lots of gin tastings.
A great tourist hub. You can get tickets to all kinds of tours. There is a little Cafe, a few boutique shops and tasting from a few of the local distillerys here.
Great spot for food and a beautiful views of the harbour.
