Good fish and chips, very plain shop decor.

Mr O has attended this magnificent 'blast from the past' fish and chip shop for a few years now, however, this is the first time Mr O has had a chance to review this fantastic establishment as, well, he has been enjoying the food too much to write one! This fish and chip shop is exactly what you remember as a child from the 80's. The smell of the oil, the drinks in fridge, the magazines, and, most importantly, the vast array of deep fried goodness! This is an easy five stars for Mr O - quality at this establishment is top notch and consistent. Well played Bernie...well played! Canberra owes you a medal.

Strange to think Canberra is no where near the ocean and yet, best fish and chips ever!! We've had Bernie's a dozen times now and it's always fresh and delicious. AND, the chips are out of this world! Favourite fish and chips hands down. Thank you to the lovely family that keep it 5 stars 😊

Fantastic selection of seafood. My fish, calamari and prawn cutlets were excellent. Service was also very good, but phone contact is a little problematic. However, the quality of the seafood and the cooked versions more than make up for any such issues.

The best potato scallops and fish that I have found in canberra. Quality product, nice fresh oil and simply delicious. Staff are friendly and intelligent.

Good fish'n'chips for Canberra. But they don't do phone orders; they say they do but they don't actually start to cook it until you arrive. So tonight it's a 1 hour wait for phone orders and 15minutes for walk-ins. Good food, service is suffering. UPDATE - Thanks to the owner for responding, it's good to see that they are encouraging people to walk in to their shop and congregate; with COVID19 happening. It was also inspiring to see the owner not once ask a customer to check in with the Check In CBR app, I probably missed the displayed QR code? So even though the health advice for the past 12 months has been to encourage phone in and collect ordering for takeaway venues; good on Bernie's for flaunting this advice and shame on me for trying to comply. I humbly apologize for my indiscretion.
