As long as you are well presented I think it is fine. No need to be too fancy

Hi, I am planning to visiti this restaurant for husband's birthday and we have a 8 months old baby, is this place kids friendly?

Yeah I have to agree with Justin here. Balthazar is a very quiet, ambient venue. It's almost quiet library vibes... With alcohol. I've never seen a baby or kid there. Not to say you can't have kids! Just not the best location for it.

big....no no. I went out of my way to take my grandchildren ages 5 and 12 to this restaurant. the kids menu did not have many options and the chips were ice cold...I WAS DISCGUSTED WITH THE SERVICE. better off going to macdonald for a $2 hamburger

Not really an option for Australian children. I have never, over numerous visits, experienced anything short of outstanding service and cuisine. Have even written to the owners about it !

Can I wear a short and T-shirt

Yes they won't stop you, although you might look out of place

Are there many vegetarian options on the menu?

I was there a few nights ago and they have an Heirloom Beets entree, but dont remember seeing a vegetarian main course. They are phenomenal though and would definitely have an option. Great service and wonderful food. Hope that helps.

Street parking along the esplanade is free after 6pm :)

Is there some easy parking close by to the restaurant

Yes there is limited street parking or there is a multi level parking lot close by on same street 😶
