Avalon

This place is a feast for the eyes and for the belly. I can't exactly put my finger on the style as all the many pieces used to decorate the place are from all different eras, seemingly mainly from the early to mid 20th Century. Hard to explain, you'd have to see it yourself but it's worth the effort. I've heard people say it reminds them of 'Being at Nana's house'. Found just a few steps from Katoomba Train Station, as you walk in, your eyes will be all over the place with so much to look at. That's before you even get to the food and drinks menus. So much great choice on both fronts, plenty of craft ale and cocktails. The choice of mains is excellent. We both had the Eye Fillet Steak, lovely stuff.

Great location and views. Excellent food from very good menu. Friendly service. Highly recommended. Caution: a lot of steep stairs to get up to the dining room level.

Had a the most fabulous evening at this lovely restaurant. The food, the service and all the people were absolutely magnificent, will definitely be going back in August when we visit the Blue Mountains again. I would say it was one of the best evenings I have ever had in the Blue Mountains. David and his staff kept us highly entertained throughout the evening.

Do your self a favour and have dinner at Avalon ! No Really !! We enjoyed dinner last night so much the review maxed out at 5 out of 5. Dave and his staff made the evening special and memorable. If you want VIBE then make a booking.

We were highly recommended by guests staying at the same resort to visit Avalon Restaurant for dinner as they had the most amazing evening meal the previous night. The food was absolutely sensational we were told and the service was fantastic. The recommendation was so impressive that I booked a reservation for three for dinner tonight (Thursday) but unfortunately my sister injured her ankle on a walk during the day that we had to cancel a few hours before our reservation! I contacted the restaurant directly and spoke with a lovely gentleman and explained to him our unfortunate predicament. The gentleman was absolutely lovely, very caring and understanding and when I informed him that I was happy for him to charge me the cancellation fee as per the booking condition he instantly rejected my request and informed me that because of the unfortunate set of circumstances the restaurant would definitely NOT charge us for the cancellation. One step further he also passed on his sincerest best wishes for a quick and speedy recovery for my sister! A lovely genuine man indeed! We will definitely visit the restaurant in the near future as excited to experience their amazing food and service. Highly highly recommended 10/10 Heartfelt Thankyou to Avalon Restaurant

We were so lucky to get in to Avalon, they were fully booked but said we could sit in the bar area. It was a great night with live music and excellent food. The Camembert is to die for. Will definitely book ahead next time!

Simple food done incredibly well. Our servers were very friendly and we didn’t feel rushed even though we arrived late for our sitting. I’ll gladly come back here to try more of the menu and hopefully catch some live music. Thank you guys!

Love the Avalon, always have. Same menu for as long as I can remember, i would guess 20+ years? But tried and true, really delicious. Eclectic, quirky atmosphere in a beautiful old building. I just love it, strongly recommend!

Food was excellent, location great, decor eclectic but not over done and really lovely staff. Was a special night out for our anniversary and we were not disappointed.
