Good and fast
Amazing spot for vegetarian food in Canberra! You'll never believe it's not beef/chicken/fish. Tried the ginger fish and it was delicious and flavourful, with crunchy fired tofu on the outside and seaweed wrapped "fish" inside. The berry brown rice was subtly sweet and fragrant, definitely worth the rice upgrade. The vermicelli cannelloni was more traditionally Vietnamese in flavour, but still good. And save room for dessert - the banana fritter had a nice, crispy batter and paired well with the soy ice cream and coconut milk. Definitely want to come back to try the rest of the menu!
Loved our experience at Au Lac! At this stage, we can consider ourselves beginning to love the vegan cuisine and Au Lac helped us on that journey. It's our first time to eat at a vegan restaurant after we had a yoga retreat and ate only vegan dishes for a couple of days. Everything that we've ordered at Au Lac is just exceptional! We tried their Au Lac Spring Rolls, Chicken Laksa and their Au Lac Beef Pho. We loved it so much, it somehow made us forget that they are all vegan (even tasted better than the traditional meat dishes). Even the presentation of the food is very enticing. Their service is also good, they were able to serve the food quickly on our table. We will surely come back to try their other vegan dishes.
Absolutely amazing food and service. This place was fully booked and I can see why. The service, selection of foods available and price were spot on. There was not a single thing I could fault and the food was divine, I'll be adding this as a regular place to eat when in Canberra.
As a wholly vegan restaurant, it is very easy to pick this venue when you need a place to hang out with vegan friends. The food is amazing and you sometimes forget you're at a vegan restaurant. It is very popular and busy during busy times so bookings are a must!
Some vegan friends took us to this Vietnamese restaurant in Dickson and we were very pleasantly surprised. Every dish was delicious and I particularly liked the soy chicken and the mushroom fritters. The massaman curry was possibly better than the original beef dish it was mimicking. The restaurant itself is casual in style and dishes are reasonably priced. It was quite busy when we were there with in house customers as well as take away. Our friends did warn us that mains are often served before the entrees we’re finished and sure enough, despite us stipulating ‘no mains until entree’s finished’, the soy chicken appeared. This was rectified without any fuss. My husband and I will certainly be returning- I just want a whole plate of mushroom fritters to myself!😋 4.5⭐️ from me.
The food was delicious, but they were anxious to remove your plate, no one told me when I ordered. When I got my food, they evacuated your plate in a hurry and told you to finish it quickly because there is a next reservation. I just want to have time to enjoy the food, not gobble it up. Maybe it's because there are too many people, but I'm not a robot, which is really bad.
We had take away. It was delicious delicious and delicious. Did I mention it was delicious. So scrumptious 😋. 4 our us shared 3 vegan meals & fried rice. Wish they where I lived......
I love Au Lac! There's such a variety of yummy dishes here. The restaurant has a nice feel to it and the food is always great no matter what I order.
The laksa was excellent. Good size portion. First one in but when i left the resturant was filling up. The prices seemed reasonable.
