Quite astounding this place! Unpretentious yet overachieving in the meals and the service. A 5 Star 🌟 dish here, Soft Shell Crab for instance, is easily 400% better quality and 400% volume of food compared to a lot of Chinese restaurants on the North Side but at much lower price! $18.95 at 3 Bamboo for one serving, pictured above, compared to about $20 for One Quarter the amount of crab and One Quarter the quality for a double serving. Yes, we will be back for sure and many times too.

Food wasn't bad but customer care. Not friendly and cash only. Not recommended.

Might have to park around the residential areas during peak times but it’s definitely worth it. The menu has extensive seafood options, fresh from their tanks no less! Otherwise, the menu serves hearty Chinese-HK style dishes - and personally I feel like they go low on MSG! Certainly a good alternative to the normal offerings at Sunnybank! Make sure you book beforehand because it’s always packed on the weekends!

The first time a friend told me to try out this place, I was wondering: Is there an 'old three bamboo' restaurant? Or a 'new two bamboo' restaurant? Or maybe the parent company was named 'old one bamboo', and the first branch was 'slightly new two bamboo'? Will the next branch be called 'newer four bamboo'? Since then, I've eaten there four times, but haven't come closer to solving the mystery of the name. Of course, all that didn't matter as soon as my food order was served. The food is really good, and probably among the best prices for seafood in Brisbane. I really love the crab (the salted egg is very very evil), and the wife loves the pipi (it can be spicy - be warned). In fact, you know the seafood is fresh because you can ask them to show you the crab/lobster that will soon end up on your plate. I took the opportunity to educate my children the potential hazards of holding a crab with bare hands. Their non-seafood dishes also taste really good, and come in generous portions. One serving of ee-fu mushroom noodles keeps the kids happy (and quiet) so I can enjoy my crustaceans. It's still a mystery to me how they aren't rated higher on Google - it's almost impossible to get a seat on weekend dinners without a prior reservation. Do give me them a try.... Maybe I'll ask them about the mystery of the name on my next visit. I know I'll be there again soon.

Mongolian beef so nice. Honey chicken was only average. Staff friendly

Dined here twice for a couple of birthday occasions because the location is convenient, but both times parts of our order have either been forgotten or placed somewhere else and we've had to sit there waiting and waiting for the final dish to arrive. After notifying the staff, we waited for a further 20 or so minutes until we decided to cancel the order, only to be told by the staff that they've just started cooking it. The food was average so it wasn't really worth the extra long wait

Good food, variety of flavours - In some Chinese restaurants the dishes can taste somewhat similar, however, there is good variation and more refined cooking here (compared to a restaurant like Stir fry in jindalee). The ambience is not great - typical busy Chinese restaurant, the staff mainly speak Chinese (so don't expect 100% understanding when speaking english). Some prices are quite reasonable and some serving sizes are better than decent. I will be back. I recommend the soft shell crab at $19, squid fish tofu $26, another squid dish (I have no idea what it's called, good luck finding it). Parking can be limited, so just park on the street.

Good food at a decent price. Dropped a star because the service was slow and food came out really staggered. Basically finished each dish before the next came out.

Food was great and the price was fantastic. No wonder the place is fully booked out every night. They had more live mud crabs and lobsters than any seafood markets around town. Must try for all Asian seafood lovers

Very unpleasant dinning experience. Unknowlegeble staff who is unable to answer questions about food ingredients. The manager is very unprofessional, she is not able to deal with issue but very good at arguing with us. Lobster noodle is tasteless but she thinks we should let them know we like it more salty. How can I know it is tastless without tasting it. One of the mushroom dish, they used cheaper one instead of the one shown on the menu. We have been told they are all Chinese mushroom, no difference. But we know the one on menu is more expensive. Finally the problem wasn't resolved.
