A bit pricey, and occasionally chock full, but if you get the right time, and the right temp, you can have a very cool beer by the river. Haven't tried food but apparently not bad.
360 Elizabeth St 3000, Melbourne
Well located within city center. Good ambience with a rustic feel. Open late. Good pancakes but the fish and salads were also good. Service was good and fast and children friendly as well. Love the place and would recommend friends to it with hesitation

great service, delicious food! try the pecorino cheesecake, and the king prawn dish
35 South Wharf Promenade Off Dukes Walk, South Wharf 3006, Melbourne
Great food, brilliant location with outdoor seating along the river. But minus points for playing obnoxious rap music from the 80s. Think "prince of Bel air' theme rap running on repeat while trying to enjoy your dinner.

Amazing burgers, Amazing staff, Charles and Truman are the chefs for real!!🍔🍔💚👊🏻
5 Riverside Qy Southbank 3006, Melbourne
Great range of beers - all good. Staff are a little slow serving customers. I am regularly left standing at the bar (even when the place is empty!) for many minutes until I can flag some one to serve me.

First up, lunchtimes and dinner times are BUSY! This is good food, served well and is tasty and hot. A little simple and plain with no frills but still very good. I just didn't love it, but you may find it good. Mostly really Vietnamese soups, you eat the stock first then tuck in to noodles. Spring rolls (with lettuce) are pretty good. Cheap and cheerful.
1-3 Cobden St 0, Melbourne
I loved the atmosphere and decor. I found the servings a little on the small size, however I finished feeling satiated rather than bloated. A very enjoyable experience.
193 Bourke St, Melbourne
Ive only had drinks, not eaten here, but it's always pretty reliable (once you get in). The city venues are overall pretty lame, unless your like most people that come in from the suburbs and like the majority of bars in the city, but this place is not bad to me
323 Lygon St 3053, Melbourne
Love it! Knowledgeable staff, great variety of alcohol to cheese matches and reasonable prices. A win!
100 Little Lonsdale St, Melbourne
Go with friends... cheap, quick and delicious! A half-half plate will feed 3 people easily and the beer on tap is great!
What a quirky warm and cool little Hotel.. the Royston Hotel is! The dining room is dim lit and quiet and offers an intimate dining experience with a great menu selection. I had the wild mushroom with barley risotto and it was lovely although a bit too much for me. My guests had the calamari and said it was the BEST she had ever had! I agreed when I had a bite! I shared the apple crumble, which was absolutely lovely and our guests also had the sticky date pudding which not only tasted great but the effort in the presentation was appreciated. The staff were attentive and friendly and the front bar wasn't overly big, which made it warm and inviting .. like your own little local. We finished the night in the front bar and sat in some well positioned comfy lounge chairs near the cool feature wall. For those who don't mind a game of pool .. there's also a table there as well. What a great little find!
