St. Albi Bar & Eatery
4.5

49 Albert Rd Near Main Rd, Next to Valhalla 7009, Moonah

I went here a few weeks ago with family and got a 450g rib eye stuffed with blue cheese. It wasn't bad but next time I'll choose a cheaper dish that isn't literally just a piece of meat. Was disappointed with the side of 'fat chips', I thought they be hand cut. But they were just regular chips like the kind you'd find frozen in the supermarket. Everyone else's meals looked fine, I don't think anyone complained.

We walked in to this restaurant while my husband and I travelled to Hobart. I suddenly wanted to have Italian food that night, then we encountered this restaurant at a street corner. The restaurant was going to be busy, and we were told that we had to leave by 7:45pm. We were fine as we wanted to go somewhere at night. The decor of the restaurant was in European style, giving you an impression that you are back to Europe. We ordered entree and main course, without wine, which caused the waitress looked at us in a bit strange way. Anyway, she kept coming back to refill our glass, which was good service. The entree came in quickly, - Bruschetta ŵ melted bocconcini, confit garlic, fresh oregano, evoo & cracked black pepper, I'm not Italian, so the food to me is the bread with garlic and some herbal spice butter and melted cheese, it was my first time to have this bread, both my husband and I were impressed. The main course took a long time to arrive, my husband had a steak, and I had seafood pasta with salad. The steak was juicy, and cooked in right tenderness; my pasta was exactly what I wanted, creamy and delicious. It was a pity that the manager told us to take our time to have the meal after we've half finished, as he just found a table. I was too full to have dessert, so we left by 7:45pm. The total cost was about $80, and it was absolutely nicer than the one we had in Bicheno. We've told everyone about this restaurant after we came back. Highly recommended

Zeps

92-94 High St 7210, Campbell Town

Nice cafe excellent service. Try and catch their pizza after 5 pm.

The Burger Haus
4.3
/ 409

364A Elizabeth St 7000, Hobart

I've eaten here a lot but only ever for breakfast. The fried breakfasts are a great size and there's a good variety on the plate; the only let down is the sausage which is always disgusting. The fruit salad is disappointing in size and variety of fruit but light and well presented. Good relaxed vibe, good service, great location.

Cultura Espresso Bar & Restaurant

123 Liverpool St 7000, Hobart

I ducked into here between a business meeting and my taxi to the airport and was seated in the 'best seat in the house' as described by my waiter. Think Mafia boss, back to the wall kind of 'best seat'. I was quickly attended to and ordered the duck special of the day along with some champion tasting garlic bread. Because I was sitting alone and noticed by a waiter who I assume was the owner I was offered a complementary glass of wine to go with my lunch. While I wasn't waiting or impatient at not having had my order taken it was a nice gesture that wasn't necessary to keep me happy. It was a pleasant and relaxing experience despite the growing crowd and I'll definitely head back their next time I'm in town.

The Richmond Bakery
4.2

6/50 Bridge St, Richmond

I had a good pie (curried scallop) and a surprisingly good coffee. Expensive as per Tasmanian tradition and indifferent service.

Czegs' Cafe

46 Bridge St 7025, Richmond

Ma Foosies, The Cafe Restaurant is located on Bridge St. in a lovely historic building, The decor is in appropriate rustic style, with a number of historical photos around the walls. Along with a large log burner, which creates a very cosy yesteryear ambience.. The word 'Foosie' was used in Ireland by Mrs Duffy Senior to describe all sweets and treats she found irresistible. The selection on offer of "Ma's Foosies", is small but inviting. Included are steak, seafood, chicken and fettuccine, followed by irresistible deserts. We started with a generous serve of creamy delicious pumpkin soup. Followed by two large Scotch Fillet mignon steaks, with a bacon & creamy mushroom gravy, served on a bed of sweet potato mash, accompanied by a side order of well prepared greens. Tasty and cooked to perfection. Our dessert was a whole generous size Apple Pie, served with cream and ice cream, just like grandma used to make. A dining experience very appropriate to the picturesque historical town of Richmond. Good call.
