See AllThe Promenade Lime St, Sydney
So many restaurants, night life and even bowling!! an easy recommendation for a night out with friends. it does have a touristy feel though given its proximity to darling harbour and major attractions so if That's not your kind of thing there are better options in other parts of Sydney. Can also get a bit roudy later on in the night although regular police patrols do keep this at bay.
Cowper Wharf Road & Dowling St, Woolloomooloo
Good for a late night snack with a few drinks. Tourists always come here but then again even Anthony Bourdain dropped by for a tiger pie.
125 Falcon St 2065, Crows Nest
Awesome ramen and fantastic value for money. Will often have to wait for a table but definitely worth it. Service is fast, food is delicious. Last time I went there (Feb 2012) they also pork buns they'd made themselves which were fantastic!
1296 Pacific Hwy 2081, Cowan
Frequented by bikers, cyclist, car tourers, boaties, bushwalkers and many many other groups and individuals, the Pie in the sky is strategically perched high over the F3 vith view across broken bay. It sits under some old pine trees next to an nicely engineered corner of the old pacific highway and boast an abundance of el fresco dinning as well as some sheltered dining area. As the name suggests, the fare is Pies; baked on the premises with quality not compromised by quantity. There is a great variety and visitors can enjoy a simple bagged pie to take away or a sit down plated pie with chips or peas and potato. Coffee may not be Melbourne standard but its not bad. Pie in the sky is a rewarding deviation from the freeway for the hungry traveller or a great stop off for the sunday (tues, wed, thur, fri sat) driver. There are fruit pies too
293 Great Western Hwy 2782, Wentworth Falls
Great pies every time though they can run out of some types quickly.
16 Eveleigh St, Redfern
Really nice coffee, and the breakfasts are delicious with surprisingly large portions. In particular the sourdough was very nice (apparently they make it themselves), and I had one of the specials of ham, gruyere, tomato and mustard with the sourdough. My wife had the porridge and loved every bite. Silky smooth with a little sweetness, some spice and a little salty. We'll be back soon... And often.
6-14 Castle St, Castle Hill
Visited on opening night. Very friendly staff members that were constantly checking if everything was going well.
69 Commonwealth Street, Surry Hills Corner of Wentworth Avenue and Commonwealth St 2010, Sydney
Such an amazing dining experience. No reservations means a wait - but so worth it! Annie as the host is actually a delight to interact with, gives honest time frames and is quick to help out where she can. The floor staff are attentive and present without being overbearing and the food! Wow! Beautifully sized and presented portions that are all as delicious as each other, and brought out quickly with still plenty of time to enjoy each course. Can't wait to go back!
Governor Phillip Park, Palm Beach
Ordered the fish and chips and the fish pie, both of which were not bad....but certainly were not worth what we paid. The fish pie looked fantastic, and had a really delicious couple of slices of bread on the side, but the pie was watery and the fish rubbery... :-( The fish and chips were not bad.... Looked good...but the batter was not crisp... The view was great however, and the service was great. If the price was more reasonable I might come back...
Shop 5050 Westfield, Bondi Junction
Best burgers around. I always get a chicken and a classic and never have I been dissapointed.
Canteen style restaurant with freshly made pasta allowing you to choose your own pasta and sauces. There's also fresh herbs you can pick yourself to add as garnishes - great concept
