Henry Lee's Redfern
4.3
/ 543

16 Eveleigh St, Redfern

Really nice coffee, and the breakfasts are delicious with surprisingly large portions. In particular the sourdough was very nice (apparently they make it themselves), and I had one of the specials of ham, gruyere, tomato and mustard with the sourdough. My wife had the porridge and loved every bite. Silky smooth with a little sweetness, some spice and a little salty. We'll be back soon... And often.

183 Regent St, Redfern

Fantastic new queer venue. Gorgeous and smuttily decorated, cute individually decorated booths (with retro waterproof booth chair coverings), amusing beer mats 'Free love, not free beer' with a selection of places where you can meet a stranger for a kiss or something more. Amusingly decorated taxidermy. Spaces for artists to exhibit (no charge) and beautiful use of reclaimed furniture (the sinks in the bathrooms is a bath cut into two). Good selection of spirits and you can order food from local restaurants to be delivered into the bar. Again this bar can get very full and can be really loud but amazing atmosphere and staff

Coffee Tea & Me

93B Redfern St, Redfern

Great coffee and the bagels are fantastic. The service is friendly but the shop is tiny and can get packed. This means sometimes the time it takes to get your food can be erratic.

The Regent Redfern

56 Regent St, Redfern

A great place for a quick meal en transit to a show via Redfern station. Have been here a couple of times on the way to Allphones Arena. Quick service, reasonable pub food, nicely updated. Worth a stop.

Glengarry Castle Hotel

182 Lawson St, Redfern

For a locals' pub, the only things the Glen lacks are: * a kitchen * walk through traffic from students. I've never quite understood why the students flooding towards Redfern Station from the University don't use the Glen, I know I would. As a local the pub has a friendly bunch of locals. If you gamble there's Keno and a TAB. There are three televisions that usually play sport, but they will negotiate with you. There's also a jukebox that's free at least one night a week. Regarding the kitchen, there are plenty of cafes in the immediate area, and a couple of late opening take-aways. The Glen boasts always cheap jugs, and they are. For the more obscure drinker, they usually keep one dark beer on, and at the moment it is Old Kent Brown, a beer rarely seen in Sydney. They have a bunch of different promotional week nights, but perhaps the nicest time is a weekend afternoon in the front bar, sitting at the table relaxing. Oh yeah, they do eftpos payment for jugs and stuff which is awesome.

Domino’s Pizza Redfern
3.3
/ 145

1/154 Redfern St, Redfern

Typical Domino's Pizzas - not comparable with "real" Italian pizzas but good value for money, especially the newish signature pizzas. The shiraz lamb pizza is veeery nice and an all-time favorite is the supreme.
