Katoomba Street Cafe

Visited on a cold and wet weekend when the cafe was choc full of happy clientele. My wife and I both chose their Crispy Lamb salad, which was far better than we ever expected, and at less than $20 each was very moderately priced. Coffees were in the $4 range, which is not outrageous -- as some previous (and anonymous) customers complained about. I loved the old-world Victorian decor with the gilt-framed paintings and the red colored walls. And I told the proprietor that it looked Russian to my eyes. To summaraize, it is a lovely cafe, the boss and the Scottish lass who was waitressing were both super-helpful, charming and efficient. I give it two thumbs-up, and 5 stars. I'm a foodie, and I love my food, especially when it is reasonably-priced. We paid for our meal and were not recompensed in any way for writing this review and taking the photos. Diane is a journalist and I am a photographer, so what better way for us to show our appreciation!

Can Blue Juice Bar

127 Katoomba Street 2780, Katoomba

They use actual fruit which is great and their place has quite a distinctive vibe to it! Love the post it notes all along the wall - great idea! The Oreo Banana Smoothie was pretty good too. The vegetable one wasn't quite as nice but could have been the combo we chose. Overall, would come here again to try new things (but could see myself craving that Oreo Banana smoothie again too!).

I don't know if you'd call any of the restaurants in this price range as 'great value', but in this league amongst Echoes and Lillianfelds this one has the edge. No pun was intended there but, yes, they are the closest restaurant to the edge as well... but you're not likely to be overcome by vertigo - it's still not THAT close - whatever the carefully composed photography might suggest (for any of them - including the many hotels and other rental properties in Katoomba). Make an early dinner booking to get the most out of the view (which is also subject to the vagaries of mist/fog/low cloud) These restaurants have a fairly narrow menu but Solitary had at least a couple of options in each course that attracted me (perhaps a more picky eater) and I found all to be outstanding or good at a minimum (I especially recommend the spaghetini marinara entree). In addition to the 3 course meal chosen, my girlfriend and I were treated to a complimentary entree of a delicious sweet pumkin soup. Sour-dough bread was also quickly proffered and later refreshed without us even asking. So the friendly service would have to be scored very high (even considering that there was a menu substitution in the type of fresh fish used in my partner's 2nd course - this was understandable but should have been communicated) (it was reportedly very good anyway). The background music was quirky also, straying from the not-unwelcome Dean Martin into some seriously awful tracks of hawaiian instrumentals. Very minor quibbles really in what was a convivial atmosphere and a delicious meal. Decided I needed to write here as I noticed the mixed reviews - hopefully much of those negatives are a 'thing-of-the-past'.

204 Katoomba Street 0, Katoomba

Great thai food a little less westernised than most other places. Have the laab pork. Missing some finer intracacies (such as the addition of pork liver and a courser chop) but a very nice find. Service was fast and althoufh small the wine list was good.

Gazi Chargrill

30-32 Katoomba St 2780, Katoomba

Unbelievably clean, good consistent food and great price. Only complaint is they don't take EFTPOS

Echoes Boutique Hotel Blue Mountains
4.7
/ 25

3 Lilianfels Ave, Katoomba

Echoes Restaurant and Bar in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales was the perfect spot to celebrate a special occasion. The service was a little slow and the prices were extremely high but the food was delicious. It was dark and foggy outside during our reservation but the view is usually spectacular. We drove two hours from Sydney and enjoyed it very much. #letsguide #datenight
