Grease Monkey
4.3
/ 1425

19 Lonsdale St Braddon, Australian Capital Territory 2612, Canberra

Don't let anyone offer another suggestion, I've been on the hunt for the best burger in Canberra and grease monkey is hands down the best contender so far. Even the infamous brodburger wasn't as fresh or tasty as these fine burgers.

Shogun Japanese Restaurant
4.7
/ 1089

70 Bunda St 2601, Canberra

An authentic feel presents itself here with world class Japanese food on offer. Service is good as you'd expect, fast delivery of your order, clean, well presented tasty food. A bustling place where you can see what's going on in the open plan kitchen. Scrumptious food, lovely fresh ingredients, great selection, and fast service. Slightly pricey for the area but it's definitely worth it. Would highly recommend.

King O'Malley's Irish Pub

We met here most each night after work - close to the office. Cold beer and good food and bands play on certain nights.

Brodburger
4.2
/ 796

Canberra Glassworks, Wentworth Avenue, 11 Printers Way, Kingston Act 2604 0, Canberra

Great burgers. Watch out for the long queues at the weekend though!

Kingston Hotel
4.3
/ 722

73 Canberra Ave Griffith 2603, Canberra

The place is now in 2014 the same as remembered from the late 1970s and need not update which would spoil the way-it-was atmosphere. Pick your own meat and cook it sort of place or the restaurant for pasta or the bar for drinks and pool or the pokies.... Relaxed atmosphere...great for meeting with friends ... not so good for kids and families.

Lazy Su
4.4
/ 649

U 1 9 Lonsdale St Braddon 2612, Canberra

We were lucky enough to get a table on the opening night, and wow! What they have done with the space, the bar list and the menu is amazing. The vibe and design of the space is fresh and funky, with interesting touches throughout. There are large communal tables for groups, and intimate, comfortable booth seating for something a little more private. The staff are really friendly, as were the owners who were eager to chat and receive feedback on the night. The food is a wonderful take on Asian fusion, with flavours and textures that play well together and help to enhance the overall dish. We ordered the wagyu cheesesteak spring rolls which were out-of-this-world good and completely melted in your mouth. The tacos had really nice flavours and we loved the nori 'taco shell', although quite greasy. The sweet potato was very salty on its own, but combined with everything it really worked and will be something we'd order again. The bao-gers were ridiculously good, but be warned, you'll probably have to go back for seconds! The 'buns' along with the perfectly cooked pork, crackling and slaw are all delicious. The mushroom skewers with peanut sauce were alright. The mushroom was cooked well and the sauce had potential, however, was extremely salty. The kimchi rice was another perfectly cooked dish, however, extremely salty as well. By the end of the meal the saltiness was quite overwhelming. That said, it was the opening night and we'd definitely be back to try more items, and see how the menu gets refined and is evolved. The drinks list is exciting and a refreshing change from other establishments in the area. They have an amazing list of whisky to choose from, and you won't be disappointed by their sake and wine offerings. Overall, Lazy Su is definitely worth checking out.

Frugii Dessert Laboratory

28 Lonsdale Street, Braddon 2612, Canberra

Amazing desserts and one of the best chai lattes I've ever had. This is a recent addition to Canberra, opened in January and managed to have a stellar launch. Still going strong and the owners are absolutely lovely, the man who creates and makes all the desserts is super knowledgable and you get a real sense of his passion wen you speak to him. Highly recommend both the product and customer engaged.

The Knox Made in Watson
4.3
/ 536

13 Watson Pl Shop 1 2602, Canberra

This is a fresh and vibrant little restaurant which provided a really lovely eating experience. There is an all day breakfast menu which is always a winner with me and I had some exquisite fritters on a bed of avocado which were really delicious. My friend had an equally lovely dish from the regular menu and then lashed out on a fabulous little lemon meringue tart which looked just lovely. The surroundings were lovely - we were outside, but in the shade and it was quiet (no loud music drowning out our conversation). The staff were friendly and helpful and we came away feeling happy and will definitely be back to try more of the treats on offer.
