Absolutely delicious. Love the side dishes although some are a hit or miss. The portions are big that customers often have to take away which means extra value! They’re often quite busy so make sure to make a reservation before coming. (Even on weekdays)

A very nice non-BBQ Korean restaurant! We ordered a Korean army stew, bulgogi soup, kimchi pancake, zucchini pancake, and their square pork collagen dish. We were not a big fan of the square pork dish but the rest were pretty good. We went with the less spicy options to accommodate one of our friends this time (hey Marc!). I may come back for different menu next time. I was very impressed with their banchan options (side dishes) because they were a bit different from other Korean restaurants. You can ask for refills if you want.

Hansang is the only Korean restaurant in Melbourne that does authentic family style dining. While most korean places offer 2-3 banchans, Hansang brings out about 10 of them to showcase Korean cuisine. We steered towards traditional dishes for our mains: Braised Short Ribs, Spicy Chicken Stew, Braised Pork Belly, Stir Fried Octopus and more. I enjoyed Braised Short Ribs the most. Tender and flavourful with enough texture against your teeth. Simply can't resist delicious juice bursting out with every bite. Must try! My husband and I have been loving this place and going there pretty regularly. Whenever we dine in, we have been fully satisfied with food and service. However last couple of times with the new waitress, the service has been dramatically dropped poor. We really loved this place so we took a few friends to introduce the Korean dine in culture. There were only 2 tables including ours. We were told to see the menu through the phone but I wanted a menu to show them properly with the photo and was easier this way. When I asked her for menu, she seemed really annoyed and even my friends noticed it. Even I went to order at the counter as I felt really embarrassed and didn't want to show her annoyed face to my friends. As we ordered set menu for 4 people, I asked if we could have 2 sets of side dishes. She replied with attitude towards me, and we end up getting only 1 set but it was fine. The whole time we were there was not enjoyable at all and we felt like at some point she even laughed at us. I still feel ashamed how she served us with annoyed face, and that really embarrassed me as I was the one brought my friends here. We really loved the food and this was our usual go to place, sadly I don't think we would go back there. But we'd like to say thank you to the kitchen team for doing always amazing and consistent job. Keep it up guys.
